Description

A comprehensive toolbox that taps into how the developing brain learns best: experientially.

Written by expert clinician Jen Wilke-Deaton, The Big Brain & Body Regulation Toolbox is an in-depth resource that integrates evidence-based therapies like CBT, DBT, and ACT with brain-friendly elements such as movement, multisensory input, rhythm, and repetition to help children find relief in tough moments while rewiring the brain for lasting change.

Inside, you’ll find a practical, scaffolded set of interventions that help kids with:

  • Anxiety, worry, rumination, and panic
  • Depression, anger, irritability, mood swings, self-harm, and suicidal ideation
  • Executive functioning, impulse control, organization, and task completion
  • ADHD, autism, and neurodivergence
  • Underdeveloped social skills, cognitive flexibility, and social cue interpretation
  • Defiance, oppositional behavior, low self-esteem, and feeling misunderstood

No matter the symptoms or presenting problem, regulation is at the heart of working with kids who are struggling. While many traditional interventions offer short-term relief, they often lack the structure and depth necessary for lasting change. This book allows you to deliver those long-term solutions – right when your clients need them most.

No prep needed! Each intervention provides:

  • Evidence-based rationale (the “why”)
  • Customizable goals
  • Step-by-step instructions with scripts, worksheets, templates, and handouts
  • Recommendations for community and school settings (including tier-based ideas)
